Cinema Lusso has received the Cedia EMEA award this year for the best Home Cinema room in category 1
and best lighting design at the same time.

This has been achieved by Ben Goff and his team, who built this stunning room on a tight budget.

This Cedia EMEA award was granted to a cinema room equipped with both Audio Excellence and Screen Excellence's products as main components.

While the main focus of this installation was mainly the aesthetics (and what a success!), the client was very invested in the audio performances and was interested in a system having outstanding dynamics and bass response. A Home Cinema's sound system first and foremost goal should always be to render faithfully the movie's original soundtrack, it should provide an immersive audio experience, allowing guests to fully suspend disbelief and be transported to the world created by the director. An additional request of the client's was that the sound system's performance remains of the same quality all around the dining area.

The system that Ben selected for delivering the expected high level of audio performance is the Audio Excellence Vertex 2, completed by the Raijuu 1 bass extension subwoofers. 6 x Vertex 1 were also used for the surround sound field. An Audio Excellence Quattro 06 was to feed the front Vertex 2 and Raijuu 1, the other channels being handled by the Anthem AVR.

The Vertex 2 are located behind an A.T. projection screen, a Screen Excellence Discovery of 100 inches base width.

A thoroughly calibrated SIM 2 projector provides an imaging up to the highest standard attained by this installation.

Creating this room during the Covid-19 Pandemic created its own technical challenges that Ben handled with creativity, and an engineer living on site during part of the works!

Congratulations to our Swiss friends Homecinema on their winning entry to the Screen Excellence installation of the month competition.

For this classy installation, the client asked for a 7 seat home theatre with a simple design aesthetic and complete integration of all A/V components, lighting and HVAC.

The customer didn't want visible structures in the room and it was a challenge to integrate the 6 Atmos height speakers - together with the air conditioning. An acoustically transparent fabric was used to hide everything.

The Screen Excellence TAM 2 TB screen was custom made to match the 4K projector's native resolution of 17:9, maximising screen surface and viewing pleasure.

As the room is rather high (and not wide), the use of a 2.40:1 screen did not make sense. The Acoustically Transparent Enlightor Neo was chosen as the projection surface. As well as its negligible insertion loss, Its neutral colour reproduction and smooth surface made it the ideal high-end choice.

The True Aspect Masking (TAM) system was specified to further enhance image quality when watching movies in a cinemascope aspect ratio.

The client is in complete AWE whenever he starts the system, he raves about the overall performance and "diving into another world". Placing the front speakers behind the screen, adds to the suspension of disbelief, the sound unfettered through the use of the Enlightor Neo surface.

Congratulations to Oceanic Distribution on their newly refurbished showroom in Sydney, Australia.

This installation is particularly dear to our hearts because it features the dream combination of both a Screen Excellence Reference 130 WS screen working together with an Audio Excellence 7.1.2 system configuration to deliver HUGE performance.

This refurbishment project was part of bigger changes at Oceanic Distribution. New partnerships with high-end brands like our own have made for a very impressive portfolio ...but also created the requirement for an equally impressive demo room.

The main technical challenge encountered in this installation was that the front wall was framed to suit the old speakers - this immediately excluded the option of using the very desirable and powerful Vertex 3 loudspeaker as centre speakers. Luckily, when space is at a premium, employing Vertex 2 loudspeakers as LCR speakers more than does the job when it comes to delivering an amazing SPL (105dB at 3m!) for this size of room (3.6m wide by 5.7m long).

Winner of installation of the month is...

Projection Dreams

After a demonstration at the Projection Dreams showroom, the customer decided on a Screen Excellence FullScreen as the centrepiece of their Cine lounge. It would be 4m in width, the largest screen Projection Dreams have installed.

It also turned out to be the largest frame-less screen Screen Excellence have produced, breaking new ground and resulting in a staggering new maximum viewable width of 280”.

The 157" wide FullScreen is installed in a recess, positioned completely flush with the surrounding walls, black velvet covers the cavity behind the screen providing a light absorbent perimeter.

The size of the room meant it was incredibly “live”. Numerous acoustic measurements were taken to determine how the room would be treated.

The resulting acoustic treatments included a front THX baffle, wall mounted acoustic framed images and a floating tiled floor. The back wall has additional acoustic panelling and a large rug to be placed in front of the screen will complete the look. All these treatments assist in taming the higher frequencies and reducing reflections.

The customer loves the mesmeric cinema experience!

The width of the screen and the position of the custom sofa means that even the viewer’s peripheral vision is fully engaged at all times, enveloping their senses and suspending disbelief.

The finished installation is totally immersive, a throwback to the days of Cinerama!

Joining a project late is never a desirable situation for an installer..... so we applaud DSR for their work on this fabulous media room in France!

The client required an adaptable ergonomic environment with a powerful and elegant Home Theatre for movies and gaming at one end of the room.

The opposite end of the room was designated a social area dedicated to billiards, an arcade and an extensive bar.

The acoustically complicated space proved to be the main challenge. The projector position had been decided, the cabling had been run, and the “star” ceiling had already been installed so the only option was to work around these elements.

Treating the wall behind the Screen Excellence Reference 130 WS screen solved a lot of the acoustic issues. Adding absorption panels to the lateral walls and a thick carpet between the screen and the sofa gave the finishing touches.

The resulting cinema experience is, as expected, nothing short of fantastic!

The client loves the simplicity of use and the homogeneity of the system, the Screen Excellence acoustically transparent Enlightor 4K surface gives the best possible performance available and the seamless integration into the rest of the room is exactly what was envisioned.

This month, we have awarded the prize to Votre Cinema for this slick chalet installation in Gstaad, Switzerland - A high-end private cinema room embodying the aesthetic of the mountains with a strong cinematic spirit!

Votre Cinema were involved from the beginning of this major project. Amazingly, the mountain underneath the chalet was excavated to provide a 1000 sq. metre living space beneath the visible structure. The installation also features a 7.12.4 Dolby Atmos system (yes there are 12 bass speakers behind the screen!) and a D-box system fitted to each arm chair!

A Screen Excellence custom 165" TAM 4 with native 1.97 aspect ratio and 4 -way motorised masking is the centrepiece of this luxurious dedicated cinema room in undoubtedly one of the most beautiful projects realised by the company.

A Lumagen processor handles the video sources before broadcast by a Christie CP4220 projector.
The sound is managed by a Trinnov Altitude processor and then amplified through 5 x 300W blocks from Bowers & Wilkins' Class 3000W speaker system and Bowers & Wilkins subwoofers. The room is equipped with 3 front speakers, 6 surround speakers, 6 ceiling speakers and 4 subwoofers reproducing sound to the latest Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D formats. In terms of acoustic treatment, the floor, wall coverings and ceiling were treated with a Home Theater Environment solution. Nine armchairs with motorised inclination from Fortress Seating complete this installation for a unique cinema experience.

This month, we have awarded the prize to Beter Beeld & Geluid for their awesome "Dark Knight" Cinema installation, which brought out the big kid in us all at Screen Excellence! These ultimate surroundings for escaping into the world of superheroes would make Stan Lee proud!

Beter Beeld & Geluid chose a Screen Excellence Reference 120 HD fixed frame screen as the centrepiece for their installation with a Sony VW320 UHD for image projection.

The audio setup consists of a 7.1 JBL Synthesis Four system with four S2S-EX subwoofers. With the use of soundfield management the difference in measurement per seat was less than 1.5dB.

The Dark Knight Cinema was built from the ground up next to the client's home, meaning the use of space and acoustics could be fully calculated before starting the build. The room and acoustic treatment was designed in partnership with Pinna Acoustics. The reverberation time of the room has a perfect Dolby reference for a small home-cinema of 0.3 seconds. All the acoustic treatment was hidden behind acoustically transparent panels and the life size photos of the Dark Knight and Catwoman at the back of the room - both scary and sexy at the same time!

Mon Ciné Privé

The perfect synergy of Audio Excellence and Screen Excellence in a media room

This month, we have awarded the prize to "Mon Ciné Privé", a custom installer based in Marseille, France for this exceptional media room installed in an old refurbished house in the French Alps.

The brief for this media room was to combine a sleek, but visible appearance with top notch performance on a tight budget. Didier Autric ran the gauntlet with assistance from Audio Excellence on the sound system design.

The projector is the new EH-TW9300 with 4K enhancement from Epson which projects on the Screen Excellence SLIM 110 screen, the heart of the installation, which is a equipped with our premium Enlightor Neo projection surface to give ultimate acoustic transparency.

The sound system is derived from the recommended medium power Atmos 7.1.4 configuration as detailed on the Audio Excellence website, with some modifications:

The front speakers are in keeping with the recommended configuration, employing three Vertex 2 and two Raijuu 1 units for the L,C,R channels and one Raijuu 2 for the LFE with our Control DP 48 DSP crossover feeding the Audio Excellence Quattro 06 power amplifiers.

To suit the budget constraint, the recommended AV pre-processor was replaced by a Yamaha RX-A3040 receiver, eight channels of which are used to power the Surround and Ceiling Vertex 1 loudspeakers.

Finally, the sources have been chosen by the client himself - Apple TV 4, Playstation Pro 4 and Roku Ultra are all controlled by a Logitech Harmony Elite remote control.

From an aesthetic perspective, the customer specified that the surround and ceiling speakers grilles should be black, to create a contrast with the white walls and ceiling – which is made of acoustically absorbent tiles. The resulting installation is ideal for multimedia use and performance is said to be "beyond expectations". This has helped the owner’s wife to accept the physical size of the Raijuu 2 LFE subwoofer !

The image is sourced from an Oppo BDP-103EU and Apple TV 4, with a Sony PS4 for gaming. It is projected using a JVC DLA X5000 Projector onto our Screen Excellence Reference 130 projection screen.

With 130” / 3302 mm base width and a 2.37/1 widescreen aspect ratio, fitted with our Enlightor 4K projection surface, the screen looks amazing in this wonderful looking home theater.

The 5.2 audio setup is distributed through a Yamaha RX-A3050 receiver to Waterfall LCR300 front speakers and two SUB600 subwoofers are driven by a Waterfall S500EX amplifier. Two Waterfall Hurricane Evo rear speakers have also been installed. The system is pre-wired to expand to 7.4 in the future.

4K image is run through a Wyrestorm 4K matrix form the main rack and projected with JVC DLA-X900 4K Projector on the Screen Excellence Absolute 160 projection screen of 160” / 406cm base width in native 2.35/1 aspect ratio, fitted with the Enlightor 4K projection surface, featuring fully closing and adjustable lateral masking for perfect fit for each aspect ratio. The screen is fitted on top of this beautiful, handmade bespoke AV unit.

The Dolby Atmos surround sound is deployed using Marantz AE 963 Dolby Atmos Pre-amp, Zene DZ-24DSP Equaliser, total of 12 Arragon & James power amplifiers driving 3 main GTL soundlabs AP Platinum main speakers and 4 side, 2 rear, and 4 ceiling GTL soundlabs AE 963 surroundspeakers combined with 4 Bay Audio subwoofers: 2 PMT+12 for "impact" and 2 PMT+15 for "rumble".

An acoustic treatment is provided using QuestAi Acoustical panels, Fuyi Sound isolation rubber pads and custom made 40dB sound isolation door combined with a steel door to achieve the looks and the required 50dB overall isolation.

It is a private cinema room of 46 m2 is located in a home near Bordeaux in France.

It is equipped with a Screen Excellence VistaCurve projection screen of 160” base width in 2.35/1 aspect ratio, fitted with the Enlightor 4K projection surface. It is surrounded with rear LED lighting to enhance the “Wow” factor provided by the curved screen.

The front loudspeakers are a Divatech Biosonic Mach III assembly located behind the screen. It is completed by 5 subwoofers and a set of matching surrounds speakers.

An acoustic treatment is provided hidden in the decor.

The 9 seats with Alcantara finish are dual-motor recliners installed on shakers that are synchronised with the soundtrack, for an enhanced immersive experience.

The projector is a Sony VPL VW1100 offering a native 4K resolution, to make the most of the Enlightor 4K projection surface.

The sources are a Kaleidescape AV server and an Oppo BDP 103 blu-ray player.

Finally, the whole installation is controlled with an RTI home automation system.

“The home cinema was a part of a large renovation and even larger underground excavation in Kensington, London. We were presented with a massive concrete shell and asked to turn it into a luxury home cinema with the best possible sound & picture for a given budget. The room was completed with a set of custom made, fully motorized, luxury chairs from Cineak, fitted with USB power sockets and heating / cooling cup holders. The work was completed at the end of December 2015, after 6 months work that was spread over a year-and-a-half.”

You can get different types of projection surfaces, but for the ultimate home cinema experience you need an Acoustically Transparent woven screen that is placed in front of the centre, left and right speakers just like you have in a commercial cinema. This allows for the picture and the sound to be in perfect synchronisation.

In 2009, Screen Excellence’s Enlightor 4K projection surface set the standard for acoustically transparent screens that many still aspire to achieve today. The Enlightor 4K has revolutionized the industry by providing the ultimate imaging with zero hotspotting and absolutely no moiré effect whatever projector is used. With beyond 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) resolution, the Enlightor 4K provides only a small frequency independent insertion loss when placed in front on the centre, left and right speakers.

Not content with having the best acoustically transparent projection screen in the industry, last year we launched 2 new fabrics (Enlightor Neo and Neo-W) that have raised the bar higher again and set a new standard. The Digital Picture Wins Installation of the Month Award for November

Congratulations to The Digital Picture for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for November.

This stunning cinema was installed to an over 55’s lifestyle community recreation clubhouse where there are also lap pools, gyms and woodworking rooms.

The recent CEDIA award winning installer, Scott Sauer and his crew from the ‘The Digital Picture’, Queensland, worked with Australia’s renown Wavetrain Cinema’s design firm headed by David Moseley to overcome much of the design challenges of this installation. The design brief was for a high performance cinema room contained within a budget that would be easy on the eyes and the ears of the users of the community.

Ease of use was also front and centre on the brief, this was effectively achieved with the RTI touchscreen controls designed in such a simplistic manner so that any potential movie goer could easily follow the user interface and have a great experience. The Screen Excellence acoustically transparent Referenced RF140WS projection screen was installed giving the audience the best quality image with the perfect coherence with the sound as the front speakers are placed behind the screen. The Digital Picture used Triad InWall Silver LCR speakers and Triad Cinemaplus resilient mount subwoofers.

The interior designer wanted the room to be themed but as the users may bring their grandchildren in to the room, floor standing speaker that could be potentially knocked over had to be fixed. All speakers including subwoofer are totally out of sight without any loss of audio quality. To achieve cinema reference SPL, high sensitivity front speakers were selected and coupled to a power amplifier to achieve 105dB peaks at the first row of seating. Bass performance is also excellent with 2 x Subwoofers in the middle front and an additional time aligned subwoofer engineered in to the rear wall to cancel out standing waves and improve overall bass performance between seating locations ensuring everyone hears the enhanced bass performance.

The room can play at reference without any noise complaints throughout the whole recreation facility. The residents love the cinema room because it’s like being at a normal cinema, but only better!

Winner: Sentiment HiFi Installation Award for October

Congratulations to Sentiment HiFi for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for October.

Building an exquisite home theater in a square room (5m x 5m x 5m) was a great challenge. Daniel Feng, the manger of Sentiment HiFi , adopted Screen Excellence acoustically transparent screen, US high-end speaker RBH and the ATMOS ceiling speakers from SpeakerCraft in this small room to realize the miracle.

Sentiment HiFi installed the 3D sound channel solution of 7.2.4 configuration Dolby Atmos. The RBH speakers chosen were front, side and back surround SI-6100/R, SI-744 and SI-740 respectively. Besides, Sentiment chose the SX-1212/R as the subwoofer. SpeakerCraft AIM2 was used for the top sound channels. The sound performance of the the system is beyond our imagination.

In order to achieve perfect combination of the sound and the image, there was no other choice than an Acoustically Transparent Screen Excellence projection screen. As a perfectionist, Sentiment adopted the Screen Excellence TAM2-L with the famous Enlightor 4K acoustically transparent projection surface. Winner: Home Cinema Installation Award for September

Congratulations to Cinema Rooms Ltd for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for September.

The client had previously wanted a dedicated cinema room in his barn but this proved too difficult and too costly to convert the barn to the required standard. The room in the house suggested by the client needed a lot of work especially as there was a basement directly underneath it. All floorboards had to be replaced and thermal insulation fitted to stop any cold air from coming up from below. Cinema Rooms brought the screen forward and installed a comms room behind it to keep the equipment in and to have a neat minimalistic look.

The room design consisted of a stretched ceiling to hide the structural beams that were on show and to enable the use of Atmos speakers and led’s. A new Sony VPL520 projector was chosen with a Denon AVR 7200WA amp was to enable Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. To get the best out of the Sony projector a Screen Excellence Acoustically Transparent projection screen (Slim110) with industry leading Enlightor 4k projection surface was chosen. The screen was mounted on a black wall to provide to help enhance the viewing experience.

Cinema Rooms wanted a slim speaker design to not only fit behind the screen but to sit nicely on the wall. Artcoustic loudspeakers were chosen and the room a design was completed to get the best sound and look from the room. The speakers were 3x Artcoustic 6-3,s for the fronts with 4x Artcoustic Target speakers for side and rears and 2-1’s for the Atmos in ceilings. This rooms decor was finished off with Rako controls for lighting and blinds and RTI for complete control of the system.

All in all the client is very happy with the look of the room, the sound, the picture quality on the screen and ease of use.

Darkside of the Room Wins Installation of the Month Award for August

Congratulations to Darkside of the Room for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for August.

The home cinema room was installed in a former garage of a chalet house located in the Alps. The owner wanted to convert it into a multipurpose studio for guests, including a bathroom and independent facilities. When not occupied by guests, it would become a cinema/reading/reception and games room.

The room includes a Screen Excellence RF100HD 4K screen, Sony VPL-HW55ES Projector and B&W speakers. It uses a B&W SA250 subwoofer amplifier and Yamaha RX-A3030 AV receiver. The bluray player is an Oppo BDP-103E DARBEE. There is a light management system and motorized room darkening blind over a large newly installed window.

The design was created by Fabien Baeza with whom Darkside of the Room work with frequently. “The actual design took a lot of time, but the building work itself only took about 3 months.”

A large support pillar in the room made the design and installation complicated but it was successfully integrated in the bar/technical rack module. The garage door had to be replaced by a large window, but the original entrance door was kept. The ceiling height is low and made it impossible to install 2 rows of seats.

The room was completely rewired to allow further extension of audio zones around the swimming pool, the spa and the terrace. The owners enjoy the room quite regularly to watch movies and to video play games with a PS4 PlayStation.

Dynamic Home Cinema Wins Installation of the Month Award for July

Congratulations to Dynamic Home Cinema for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for July.

The installation took place in a 28 square metre room and needed to work within a modest budget. The Installer, Dynamic Home Cinema from Marseille, hired Jean Pierre Laffont, a famous French acoustic designer to create the optimum acoustic environment without reducing too much of the available space. After the acoustic furbishing, the remaining space was 25 square metres.

The sound quality was the number one criteria in the whole design process. Didier Autric installed and MK 150 Sound system in a 7.2 configuration, with the 3 front loudspeakers being placed behind a Screen Excellence RF 120 WS acoustically transparent projection screen. The integrated receiver is a Yamaha RXA-3030.

The aesthetics and the acoustics were carefully designed to provide a sense of well-being and a feeling of comfort to the audience. The whole installation is controlled by means of an iPad interfacing with an RTI system. The main source is a BNM video server, feeding a JVC DLA-X500R calibrated with a Spectracal meter in accordance with THX specifications.

The cinema room will be used for a large variety of programmes like movies, cartoons and sport; but mainly for concert videos as the client is a great music lover.

The result, according to the client, “is beyond expectations!”

Kent Home Cinema Wins Installation of the Month Award for June

Congratulations to Kent Home Cinema for winning Screen Excellence’s monthly Home Cinema Installation award for June. The acoustically transparent screen was installed in a converted room that included the home cinema and bar area. As we all know, the best results can only be obtained with the speakers located behind the screen in order to get that true cinema experience and ensure that the video and audio are in perfect synchronisation.

Kent Home Cinema stated: “Conversion of an existing room to a dedicated home cinema room which needed to include a control system which could be extended to other rooms in the future. Following a visit to the Artcoustic demonstration centre and hearing Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 they wanted to include this within the specifications. Working closely with Dolby and our Artcoustic the speaker positions were planned into the room taking into consideration the size, layout of the room, and also to work within the bar area at the rear of the room. A full design specification was provided to the clients building contractors for the construction of the front wall studwork, room down light positions, the pelmet around the room for the cable management and LED lighting, and the raised plinth for the two rows of home cinema seating.

A fabric wall installed by Kent Home Cinema after the front speakers were installed including the impressive new Artcoustic Performance Subwoofer. A Screen Excellence 2.35:1 4K Fixed Frame Screen was specified to compliment the Sony VW-VPL500ES 4K home cinema projector giving a stunning picture.

All equipment including the Denon AVR-X7200W receiver, OPPO 103D player, sub and tactile amps and other TV/Audio sources were installed at the rear of the room in two low level racks with temperature control.

The client was delighted with the final quality of sound and picture quality and the room is being used regularly by family and friends.

The Sound Revolution is here. Are You Ready?

When you look at an image on a projection screen your field of vision is defined by the screen itself, everything else is black. Now, with a 3D sound system, focused on object sounding, there are two categories of objects: Those that are visible and those that are not.

Quite obviously, the sound engineers will place the soundscape in coherence with the landscape : The visible sounding objects will have their corresponding signals allotted to front loudspeakers, whereas non-visible objects will be located only by their sound in the surround speakers.

The art of the sound engineer will be to use the various available channels and corresponding lousdpeakers to track sounding objects positions and movements with accuracy.

Accuracy is the main word here.

Now if you can locate precisely an object outside of your field of vision with sound only, what about visible sounding objects?

Well, it just provides a great sense of realism, as their sound localisation perfectly confirms their visible position.

And what if not?

I mean here, what if an object is visible on the screen and its sound is accurately located outside of the screen?

Well, in that case you’d better forget about accuracy, and deliberately blurr the sound localisation.

This is exactly what happens if your 3 front loudspeakers are placed around the screen, exactly like if your screen was not acoustically transparent.  3D audio is a great leap forward, similar to what happened when moving from mono to stereo.

You only have to be aware of this: You will enjoy it only if the sound of the front loudspeakers comes through the screen.

Audiophile

Audiophile? Did you really mean Audiophile?

You may wonder what “audiophile “ really means. Literally, an audiophile is someone who likes the audio technologies, and who strives for the purest playback audio system.

Now, this concept is not strictly reserved to 2-channel music playback system: It also applies to a Home Cinema sound system.

As a side note, movie soundtracks are the only sources of recorded sound that do not suffer from analog compression which is systematically applied to music for purely commercial reasons.

If you are passionate about sound reproduction, like many of us are, have a thought for this lonely centre loudspeaker that is placed below a projection screen – a highly reflective surface – and near to the reflective floor.

It’s not working in ideal conditions. I’d even say, it is the sacrificial speaker! Despite the fact that 70% of the movie soundtrack plays back through the centre speaker, a good portion of it is lost due to poor speaker placement.

And there’s worse! The centre speaker also reproduces the sound of ‘sounding objects’ that are supposed to be located inside the image, as they are visible on the screen. The sound and the image now tell different stories as they are no longer synchronised.

If you want a great sound, the #1 rule is to place the centre loudspeaker at the centre of the image. So the sound has to go through the screen, like in a commercial cinema.

This seems in contradiction with the ideal of the purest sound reproduction.

Actually, it was.

As an audiophile myself (not of the weird esoteric lot, though), I have focused on eliminating any compromise on sound reproduction. This is how, after years of R & D, Screen Excellence have finalized the design of the Enlightor Neo fabric for home cinema screens.

With an insertion loss of less than one dB at any frequency, a total absence of phase-shift and no directivity alteration, placing this screen between the centre loudspeaker and your ear is simply not making any audible difference.

This is exactly what a perfect audiophile product means: Its insertion does not make any audible difference.

For this, we can introduce to you the very first audiophile projection screen.

The imaging quality is stunning too. But this is another subject.

Congratulations to ET Home Cinema for winning Screen Excellence’s inaugural monthly Home Cinema Installation award for May. The acoustically transparent screen was installed to a tight brief to convert a games room into a home cinema without any equipment visible. At Screen Excellence we believe that the speakers should always be placed behind the screen in order to get that true cinema experience and insure that the video and audio are in perfect synchronisation.

The Sony HW55ES was specified to provide a bright, razor sharp cinema image capable of 1080p and 3D, this combined with a Screen Excellence screen ensure the very best picture quality.

The Dolby Atmos configuration for this room was 5.1.4 which works perfectly for the seating position and size of room. A complete video and audio calibration was completed prior to handing over to the customer. The audio, video, lighting and control equipment are located in a separate room in a Sanus rack with just the BluRay and PS4 located in a cupboard in the bar area for ease of use.”

It’s simple to use and you get the information you need accurately and quickly. Just click on the link or go to the Download Section on our website located under the Contact Us tab. You must be registered on our website and logged-in to access the downloads.

Once you have downloaded the dimension tool click on the screen type located at the bottom of the window and then enter the base width and the aspect ratio (marked in blue) into the appropriate fields. Then click enter and you will have all the other dimensions

Are your lip-sync issues driving you nuts?

If you are new to home cinema installations or even an old dog, I’m sure you have experienced the time lag in the picture to voice.  The dreaded lip-sync issue.

It's like watching a badly dubbed film.... The reason this is happening is that the sound is being processed a lot quicker than the high definition video.  You can use the delay function on the home cinema receiver or AV processor but unfortunately it is quite difficult to be accurate using a regular AV programme.  What you need is an easy tool to help you resolve it quickly and efficiently. 

We have the answer....

Simply register on our website and download your free lip-sync tool.  You will be able to use the lip-sync tools to enable you to synchronise the sound and the image after the signal processing that has taken place in your display system. This tool is in an mp4 file which you can play directly into your system. This is similar to the film 'clapper board', but it is designed for digital video displays instead. The tool will allow you to use your manual delay function until the picture and sound is in perfect sync, just like using the focus on a camera to get the perfect picture possible.
